Meet Our Team

STEPHEN J. REHFUSS, ESQ., was born in Albany, New York.  He is a graduate of Siena College (Cum Laude), Albany Law School of Union University and is admitted to practice in the State of New York, United States Federal District Court, Northern District of New York, the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.  He served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Albany 1985-1992.  He has extensive trial experience and devotes 100% of his practice to representing parties in personal injury, commercial and civil rights litigation.  He has a proven record of representing both plaintiffs and defendants and has been retained by individuals injured in car accidents, medical malpractice and slip and fall matters, as well as contractors, municipalities and public housing authorities.  He is currently a member of the Albany County and the New York State Bar Associations, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the Capital District Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Rehfuss was a high school and college All American in swimming and is currently an active participant in triathlons.  He is a two time participant in the Lake Placid Ironman triathlon.  Mr. Rehfuss is also involved in a number of charitable and community activities.

ABIGAIL W. REHFUSS, ESQ., is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland and Albany Law School. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of New York, and the United States Second Circuit Court of Appeals. She concentrates her practice in the areas of personal injury and civil litigation. She is currently a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association.

While in law school, Abigail served as the Managing Editor for Submissions for the Albany Government Law Review. In 2015, her article, The Domestic Use of Drones and the Fourth Amendment, was published in Volume 8, Issue I of the Albany Government Law Review. At Loyola, Abigail was a Division I All-American lacrosse player and received a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Writing and Philosophy.

Jaclyn M. Barnett was born in Anchorage, Alaska.  She is a graduate of Hilbert College where she obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Paralegal Studies, American Bar Association approved.  Upon graduation, Jaclyn resided in Buffalo, New York where she worked at a Labor and Employment firm for five years prior to moving to the Capital District.  She has nearly fifteen years of experience in the areas of civil litigation, labor and employment law and personal injury law.  Other areas include, but are not limited to, landlord-tenant law, estates and probate, traffic offenses, as well as commercial and residential real estate transactions.
